SoEasy Insurance hosted the seminar “Health & Wellbeing in the Workplace: Nutrition Strategies for Increased Productivity” on Tuesday 6 October at The Content House in Nicosia. The event was held exclusively for the company’s partners as part of its ongoing training program.
Dr Christina Koni, a dietitian and wellbeing consultant with a PhD from the University of Glasgow, led the session and brings extensive experience in corporate wellbeing. Through an interactive and highly practical program, participants explored how nutrition shapes energy levels and professional performance. This topic is particularly relevant for insurance intermediaries, whose working days are often filled with consecutive appointments, travel, and constant demands.
The seminar covered the principles of a balanced diet and the “balanced plate” model, the role of carbohydrates, protein, fats and micronutrients, as well as energy balance and basal metabolic rate. Particular attention was given to the glycaemic index and how blood sugar fluctuations affect concentration, mood, and decision-making throughout the working day. Participants also learned how to read food labels, make sense of labeling systems such as Nutri-Score, and recognize misleading claims.
Practical exercises ran throughout the program, from designing a balanced meal and calculating personal energy needs to assessing real products. The seminar closed with the “My Wellbeing Wall”, where each participant wrote down one small change they committed to making in their daily routine.
“It is really encouraging to see more and more organizations recognize that the wellbeing of their people is not simply an added perk, but a genuine investment. When we give employees the right tools to look after their energy, nutrition and resilience, the difference shows not only in their health and everyday lives, but also in their focus, their performance and their connection to the organization. It is a cultural shift I am particularly pleased to see gaining ground in Cyprus,” said Dr Christina Koni.
“Our partners’ success depends not only on technical expertise, but also on the energy and wellbeing they bring to serving their clients every day. Through seminars like this one, SoEasy invests in the person behind every professional, while continuing to enrich our training program with topics that deliver real value,” said Yiannis Nicolaou, CEO of SoEasy Insurance.
The seminar forms part of SoEasy Insurance’s wider training program for its partner network, which combines professional development with personal growth and wellbeing.
